Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing — using one website to drive traffic to another — is an effective, although sometimes tricky, form of online marketing. As with everything on this site, it's part of a mix and is not suitable for every campaign.

Here's how it works. A network of website owners, often called affiliates, are sourced for a company wishing to increase its online traffic (the Merchant). These affiliates work to generate traffic and refer it to the Merchants website. In return they will receive a commission for an action taken by each referral; maybe a click, but ultiamtly a sale.
